Global Leaders
Pan American Academy educates internationally minded students who strive to create a more harmonious world. As an IB World School, Pan American Academy inspires excellence by expanding students’ perspectives and building strong character.
At Pan American, we stress the importance of inquiry-based learning in the context of a global economy, preparing students with the practical and foundational skills necessary to become tomorrow’s leaders.
Pan American launched the Global Ambassador Travel Experience (GATE) in the spring of 2013. Our eighth grade students traveled to Puerto Rico for a capstone educational experience. Since then, we have expanded GATE into third through eighth grade. Our annual GATE trips reflect an inquiry-based and global approach to learning. GATE provides our students with an opportunity to expand their world beyond their local neighborhoods. The experiences they have while traveling, serve as lifelong lessons
and undoubtedly advance their perspective on themselves and their place in the world.
As an International Baccalaureate World School, Pan American strives to provide students with the opportunity to make connections to the curriculum and transform the way they view the world. Students in third grade tour historical Philadelphia, fifth grade students travel to Washington, D.C., sixth grade students explore the arts in and history in New York City, seventh grade students tour Boston to explore history and how it has shaped the world, and eighth grade students travel internationally to use their Spanish language skills and engage in a community service project.
At Pan American We C.A.R.E.
Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) is a proactive approach to discipline that promotes social and emotional development, student behavior, and increases learning.
Through our Super Cheetah program, we work with our students to become bilingual, internationally minded inquirers. The Pan American Super Cheetah program helps us achieve this goal through rewarding students for displaying positive behaviors.

Growing Global Leaders
As an IB World School, Pan American aspires to be a supportive community where everyone can learn through service and action. This vision is supported through the implementation of our essential agreement as well as the practice of the IB learner profile. The PBIS framework facilitates the achievement of this vision.
We address classroom management issues by constantly reinforcing our essential agreement. With respect and a positive tone of voice, we provide students with more praise than correction, and we reward good behavior. Our positive approach instills
in students the importance of being reflective about their learning and actions.
Social and emotional interventions for students are planned and positive rather than reactive and impulsive. We teach and practice appropriate social and collaborative behaviors so that students learn how to be positive, productive members of their community.
