Mercedes Mason

Lower School Principal (K-4)

Mercedes Mason is a native of Philadelphia. She earned her Bachelors of Arts in Spanish (Secondary Education Certificate) from Shippensburg University of Pennsylvania. Later she earned her Masters of Education from Goucher College with a concentration in Urban and Diverse Learners and an Administrative Pre-K-12 Certificate from Cabrini University. Prior to her position at Pan American Academy, Ms. Mason taught middle and high school for thirteen years in Frederick, MD, Philadelphia, Chester and Cheltenham, PA. She served on the PBIS Core Team, School Leadership Team, School Climate Committee and as Team Leader and School Assessment Coordinator within those schools. Ms. Mason also works with youth in Philadelphia in other organizations and is an adjunct professor at a local university.
